Is my organization/project eligible for a grant?

Review our Mission Statement, General Grant Requirements, General Grant Restrictions and Secular Distribution Guidelines to determine your eligibility. In general, grants should impact the area within 100 miles of Coatesvile, PA and have a focus on health and human services.

When are applications due?

The deadline for applications from secular organizations is April 1.

How do I submit an application?

All applications must be submitted online. Be sure to select the correct organization type — Secular.

Although it is not required, organizations interested in submitting an applications may call and discuss their project with the Trust’s staff, at 610-384-2666, between the hours of 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, EST, Monday through Friday.

What will be required in the application?

Online applications will require you to submit a summary of the organization, a description of the project, and the following attachments in a pdf format:
  • IRS tax-exempt letter
  • Statement that there has been no change in purpose, character or method of operation since the Agency’s IRS tax ruling was issued
  • Pennsylvania Charitable Organizations Registration Certificate (any organization that has over $25,000 in gross revenue, regardless of location, must register in Pennsylvania before soliciting funds) of written confirmation of exemption
  • Current by-laws
  • Current board of directors list (with professional affiliation)
  • Most recent 990 form filed with the IRS
  • Most recent independent financial audit
  • List of public/private funding sources for your organization during the past fiscal year
  • Current semi-annual or annual report
  • Examples of published media reviews
  • Strategic plan for your organization
  • Organizational flow chart
  • Overall operating budget for current fiscal year

Can I make changes to my application?

Once an application is submitted, it can no longer be edited by the applicant. Significant omissions or errors should be communicated to the Trust’s staff, at 610-384-2666, between the hours of 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, EST, Monday through Friday.

How will I know the status of my application?

Decisions on secular grants are made in May. You will be notified by email. You can always log in to your account to check the status, too.

What happens once my application is approved?

You will be notified by email to log in to your account — then download, print, sign and mail a Grant Agreement back to the Trust. 11 months after receiving your grant check, you will be reminded to login to your account and submit a Final Report.

What if my application is denied?

We can not approve funding for all applications — even when they fall within our guidelines. You may reapply the next calendar year.
